Our provision was fully refurbished in Summer 2019 with new and exciting resources for your child to access.  Your child will be able to enjoy our dedicated Foundation Stage outdoor area as well as the extensive play equipment and pirate ship.

Curriculum

Our offers a full Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum in line with the current offer of curriculum across the school and the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

The following four guiding principles of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) shapes practice in the early years setting:

  • every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured

  • children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships

  • children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers

  • children develop and learn in different ways

There are seven areas of learning and development that must shape educational programmes in Early Years’ settings.  The three prime areas, are:

  • communication and language

  • physical development

  • personal, social and emotional development

Providers must also support children in four specific areas, through which the three prime areas are strengthened and applied. The specific areas are:

  • literacy

  • mathematics

  • understanding the world

  • expressive arts and design
